Being a Mother

Two things, one, I looked at a post I wrote a year ago. It was about a prayer I had. Here is the prayer:

“I am praying that God will give me the energy, the strength and the skills to be able to mother many. It will be easy to see when this prayer is answered. I will, most of the time, be able to keep up with basic housework, keep my momentum/sanity most of the time and I will feel like I have energy left over. I suspect that AFTER children are added to the family, I will need to start praying it all over again. But for now, I wait expectantly for His answer and I keep pursuing a successful day. Day by day.”
(From here)

God has answered my prayer. Most days I have more energy to do more than the minimum. Most days feel efficient. I am learning, by jingo and God has not been idle! Praise God!

Secondly, I had an extended Bible/God/Prayer time this morning and God spoke to me through this verse:
It’s Proverbs 14:4.

It says to me that life can be messy, but fruitful.

” 4Where no oxen are, the manger is clean,
But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.”

I think it speaks truthfully about children, among other things.

Thanks for posting this Rachel. I love hearing what God is doing in your life! He is the ultimate parent, and he will make you more and more like him as you get closer to him. We love you too, and pray for you and Brian often. And what an awesome verse. I have never read that one before.
