Of couches, spiders and coffee

Yesterday was a remarkable day.

Yesterday was, first off, my day off.
I dropped Brian off at work at 8… so I didn’t sleep in or anything.
I went shopping for a baby shower gift… but the baby superstore wasn’t open yet.
Bought booties and little flowery sandals for my friend’s baby.
Then I went to Missy’s family’s house.
I helped unpack a large shed of… boxes and boxes and this and that and dressers….
And spiders!
That was good – got it all out in a huge pile in the yard.
There was a pile for the dump too.
And Goodwill.
Meanwhile, they generously gave me all baby items!
I acquired: crib, mattress, play pen, bouncer chair, Moses basket, boxes of baby clothes…
Wow!!!
God is amazingly good. He is Awe-some.
Nancy bought us lunch at Taco Bell – mmmm!
We went to her dad’s house.
He offered me a large, beautiful, perfect couch!
And one for my sister too!
And lamps!
And a desk and bed!
I am overwhelmed.
God is too gracious and generous…
What do I do?
Jennie buys us all delicious coffee drinks from where she works.
Wow.
Yum!
I go to my parents who graciously offer to store these things for a year.
I go home and rush in to tell Brian what happened today.
Brian says, “guess what dear!?”
Brian is probably getting a job offer that is just what we had hoped for.
What do I do?
What do I think?
How do I function?
Life is just too much for me!
Too strong!
Too sweet!
We proceeded to collapse on the bed and talk.
And stare at the ceiling.
And talk some more.
And talk about buying a house.
And talk about having kids.
And talk about moving.
And talk about when we can pick up the couch.
We don’t know what to do.
So we go buy some cookie dough ice cream to celebrate.
God is so good!
Praise God! Holy One! Gracious One! Wonderful One!

Oh – and My sister just got engaged this last weekend!
Oh – and we are trying to go visit my brother and sister-in-law in NYC before they move back.
Oh – and my friend just found out she’s pregnant!
Oh – and and and

*sigh*

And to confuse all of these emotions in me, I may have to say goodbye to a dear one soon. My great grandma’s health is not holding up.

I think I’ll just go lay down on the bed and cry.
But I did that last night.
So I will clean house this morning.
Singing hymns.

This I think is poetry. I would, if I were you, make a hand-written hard copy to remember how I felt when now was a long time ago…
