But first a few news flashes:
Anna had her 6-week checkup at the midwives yesterday! It was our last appointment. 🙁
She weighs 9lbs. 10oz.
The cure for her puffy eye (clogged duct probably) – breastmilk in the eye. Weird, huh? It’s got antibodies in it I guess…. and it worked!
Cure for baby acne… wait it out.
Interesting labor notes from midwife records:
8:00PM Kelly left
8:15 Water breaks
9:00 Kelly back – Rachel in shower
9:15 Contractions every 2 minutes, lasting 1 minute
9:25 Grunting (haha)
9:30 Involuntary pushing at peak of contractions
9:45 Pushing with every contraction – moved to bed – laying on side
10:00 Seeing head with pushes
10:10 Head and body born (I guess usually they’re born further apart…)
11:15 Cord cut
General appearance: Beautiful
Skin: Pink, stork bite on forehead between eyes (I think it looks like a butterfly)
Eyes: Clear
And that’s it for now. 🙂
There are also notes of Anna’s heartrate, me changing positions to half-sitting, when I ate, when I threw up, yadda, yadda… 🙂 I’m so happy she’s born!
Here are a few expressions:
The progression of a cry:
You know what’s coming next! (as I finally put down the camera and tend to her)
Happy, content, alert (she loves to lay and look out the window!)
Tough Anna:
Daddy is so silly!
Smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the angle… but she was smiling at ME and i couldn’t put the camera in between us!
Ah! She’s so cute. Very beautiful smile ♥
I know lots of people read our blog… why do so few comment? You don’t need an account and this at-home mom needs some feedback, hello’s, how-de-do’s…. 🙂
I know a bunch of family reads this – hello family!
hello! i read your blog, but i guess i don’t have too much to say! anna is a cutie! : P
Congratulations Brian & Rachel!
I just received an e-mail from proud Grandpa about a website of mine he is using… and heard the news about beautiful Anna. What a difference a year makes. Do you realize that your 1-year anniversary in your home was a week ago on May 25th? By the looks of your blog… it looks like you have had a really fun year!
I am so truly happy for all of you. Some day I might swing in there to check in. Please know that if you ever need anything… I am just a phone call or e-mail away.
Best wishes always,
YOUR Real Estate Broker,
Mark Vandervest
