From the annals of doctor visit histories

Or rather, straight from my chat with Brian when I got back from Anna’s 4 month, 1 week doc appt.

Summary – Anna is still a peanut and her hair may fall out before it really starts growing. As if she had any to lose!!! She got three shots today – poor baby… but she hardly cried – yay!

12 lbs. 8.5 oz.
24.75″ long
head about 40.6cm

it was a quick doctors visit
no problems
she went to sleep quickly in the car
is asleep in he crib now
Her head circumference went from 50th percentile to about 40th
Her length went from 75th to about 68th
Her weight went from 50th to 25th
She didn’t seem worried about the weight drop although she said if it continued to slow down we would want to supplement
So there are a few things I want to do about that
because in the evening Anna gets so frustrated because she can’t get the milk she wants (maybe that’s why she’s been waking up at night?)
1. Drink more water
2. Eat more food (i like losing weight but I think I should make a point of eating just a little more than I need for just me)
3. Pump at nighttime to increase milk
4. Continue supplementing with solids
I am drinking water now
I need to eat lunch
Brian is typing…

How’s is it going with bringing your milk supply up? Have you tried fenugreek? I have also been told by a few nursing mothers that eating oatmeal for breakfast everyday did wonders for their milk supply. It’s worth a try! Are you still drinking and eating enough?
