I got all this done by 2pm today. I also ate a leisurely breakfast and lunch and sat chatting online for a couple hours. Soooo, probably well under four hours work including driving and shopping? Anna came with me to everything except for Albertson’s. I’m going to pick up a couple things at Fred Meyers soon.
Albertson’s (3 transactions):
1 box Graham Crackers
1 bag marshmallows
1 package of 6 hersheys bars (yes, that makes smores!)

4 bottles of Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbeque Sauce
2 bottles Kraft salad dressing
1 bottle of French’s Honey Mustard
1 bottle of Lea & Perkins Worcestershire sauce
1 bottle of antibacterial Windex multi-surface cleaner
2 Kraft Extra Sharp Cheddar cheese chunks, 8 oz. each
=$6.07 and I will get $2.99 back in a mail-in rebate, so that is $3.08
Rite Aid (2 transactions):
1 fancy deodorant
1 saline wound wash in fancy spray bottle
60 ct. Rite Aid brand tylenol
1 multivitamin with fluoride prescription for Anna
=19.77 and I will get $9.48 back in a rebate check and I got a $25 gift card for transferring my prescription = $10.29 or +$14.71 if you include the gift card
Safeway (2 transactions):
4 Bar-S hot dogs
3 huge French’s regular mustard
1 Wheat Thins
1 Whole Wheat Ritz crackers
=$3.46
Walgreens (1 transaction):
1 Fancy Colgate toothpaste
1 Fancy deodorant
=$7.48 but I got $9.50 off my next purchase there, so that is getting paid $2.02 for buying yet MORE toothpaste and deodorant.
Dollar Tree:
3 packages of snack cups
3 packages of sippy cups
1 doll
1 package of four little squirt guns
=$7.00 and completely worth it
I have coupons for more free Honey Mustard and salad dressing from Albertson’s, but the computer wasn’t liking how many double coupons I was using in one day (the nice self-checkout lady was very helpful) so I decided to put it off or just scrap it. Maybe there will be some fun deals out on Sunday to use the double coupons on instead!
Total spent today after everything (rebates and gift cards): I got paid $3.19
Total spent today before everything, including store markdown that I didn’t need coupons for = $108.45
Actual money out of my account today (so this doesn’t count rebates, etc.) = $43.78
(so you subtract 9.50 in register rewards, $10.29 in rebates, oh another $2.99 in rebates, and $25 in a gift card and the math should add up about right)
And yes, I spend $4 every week to buy two Sunday Oregonians. I stick the manufacturer coupon inserts into a big accordian file to pull and clip as needed. I won’t buy any newspapers this weekend since there aren’t any on a holiday weekend.
