We had an amazing weekend!http://breezysunday.com/blog/wp-admin/post-new.php
My brain is in nap-mode so I will make this short!
Friday afternoon we went to Molalla after work and had dinner with my parents, Austin, Melissa & Jackson, and my Aunt and Uncle (Granty and Grunkle to Anna!) and my cousin Lynsay and her two girls!
Saturday morning the guys (Austin, Dad and Brian) hung kitchen cabinets in the “big room” while us gals prepped for Austin’s surprise 22nd birthday party. We went to Willamette Park, which has an incredibly perfect fountain for kids, including toddlers! Anna had a BLAST, played in it twice (brave kid!), I chatted with a few moms, Anna drank an entire Root Beer, we had hamburgers and Anna got to float in dad’s boat a little bit!
On Sunday, we went to the Clackamas County Fair from about 10am-1pm with Brian’s mom! Anna was tired before we even got there, but we had tons of fun anyway! We saw a lion and tiger (REALLY!), goats, sheep, pigs, baby pigs, horses, ponies, llamas, rabbits, guinea pigs, all kinds of birds, a mime statue, and more! We had lunch at the fair and took turns carrying Anna. It was tons of fun!
The last two nights Anna has wet her pants completely. I think these are the first two complete accidents she’s had since she potty trained four months ago… in two days. And then today she had a complete accident in her bedroom… the first real daytime accident since potty training too. She didn’t tell me about it either, she just called for help getting her shoes off so she could change. For the last entire month, she’s been wetting her undies just a little before every bathroom trip. It’s pretty frustrating! Why? Just laziness and lack of interest, probably.
Anyway, today I took away her clothes privileges for the entire morning after the accident. She got them back in the afternoon and kept them dry for a few hours until another partial accident and we took them away again. Hopefully wanting her clothes back will be motivation. She doesn’t really mind not having clothes that much… but she does really like some of her special undies and started asking for them after being naked for a few hours. 🙂 Thank goodness it’s still warm out… I’m running short on ideas.
quick idea here
I have had quite a bit of trouble with chris in the potty area as well and it’s becuase of kate
anna is sooo smart and she knows things are now and will be soon very different for her. your belly is growing and I’m sure you’re talking about the new baby alot
so the accidents might be her way of dealing with/rebeling against things being a bit different.
we had chris almost fully trained for poops and all of a sudden since katie has started talking more and getting more attention, he keeps having “accidents” too. just a thought 🙂
hope that helps
oh p.s.
I don’t mean for it to sound like she’s doing it on purpose
it’s not like she thinks to her self “I’m going to pee now” lol
I think it’s just a reaction, and it’s often subconscious 🙂
I hope that makes sense lol
Both sound plausible. As part of the Laziness/Lack of interest idea, it could be that it’s old, and not as big of a deal.
I don’t know how you’ve been handling her tiny accidents but she may just feel like it’s ok to do every once in a while.
I have not a clue tho. Just trying to sound smart. 🙂
Your weekend does sound amazing and BUSY! Way to go!
Back to watching the Amsterdam soccer game from Sunday with Guy. It has a ball in it so it helps to keep him interested. Just one more hour of laziness for mommy please Guy?
Sometimes children grow faster than their bladders. This can cause them to have accidents.
Or maybe at night, she is sleeping more soundly and not waking up to go to the bathroom. I remember as a child having dreams about going to the bathroom and having an accident.
It could be attention seeking or not.
It is not a failure in training the child to go to the bathroom. Rarely do you see college students that wear diapers or can’t use the bathroom.
Watch the Elmo movie again about potty training. Even the President does it and everybody has accidents.
You know your child better than anyone – she likes to please…
And in the words of the Bible (and Mark Lowry) – “This too shall pass”.
