Our loan is in underwriting – we don’t expect any issues. We expect that to be all approved and ready for closing this week. We’re going to play with the numbers a little to see what we can do with the closing costs the lender conceded to us… hoping to buy some points.
The inspection is finished with the house; all the repairs we requested were completed. Just waiting on a receipt that the chimney was cleaned and inspected. The appraisal came in just fine also. It came in $1500 higher than the sale price of the house…. somebody suggested that might mean the appraiser thinks we got a good deal, because they usually match appraisal to sale price? Hmm. I don’t know. I am pretty confident that the home is not a bad deal, though!
I have the new house all drawn in my little program (Sweet Home 3D) and I’ve been trying to arrange the house. After living in a house with one large living area, I’m finding it an adjustment to organize separate rooms. Glad I can do rearranging on the computer now, because it’s taken multiple arrangements and it’s much better on the computer with no strained backs!
Called utilities and asked them to start up on May 31, the day we’ll be closing. That’s kinda fun! Except that the electric utility warned me that in one month, there was a $450+ electric bill. Really want to avoid that!!!
A potential renter came and walked through our house today. Hope they love it and rent it as soon as we’re out of here so we don’t have to pay rent until our lease is up at the end of July.
Ohhhh…. I LOVE this picture. What great memories it brings back 🙂 You’d better stay un-pregnant so your joints can get tough again if you want to ride again! And I’m betting you’ll be smarter and more cautious with your kids than we were with you when it comes to horses since you know what can happen… Wikkit was so special. When you two were working well together, which was often in the later years, it was like a beautiful dance of grace, beauty, trust, and devotion. Loved watching you and him together.
I used to ride too! I miss it so much- funny how ‘real’ life (kids) takes over when you become an adult and how sweet those riding days seem now. I hope to get back into it again. That’s so cool that you have horses and an arena nearby. Country life will be amazing!
I love that picture of you and the horse!
