I was treated (by my husband!) to a full day spent with my family – My parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my uncles and aunts, sister and family, grandma…. it was a really special day. Thank you, Brian for letting me experience all that quality time.
I got to drive down with Neal and Stephanie to Jerry’s where we had a weenie roast in the rain (no joke!) and then we went to Glen’s lakefront property at Dorena to hunt for Lady Slippers. Between a heart soaking to full like a sponge with family time and eyes and heart expanding with awe at God’s creation and then a really good heart to heart with my parents on the way home… well, it was a good time.
Let me share a few photos of some of what God shared with me that day:

We brought the food in out of the rain to eat!

I can’t remember what this is called

Walking from the road towards the lake.

What is this?

Our God is beautiful.

He is so creative.

He leaves me full of wonder.

This is a lady slipper!

This is what you call… healthy moss.

Trillium! They take 7 to 9 years from seed before they are mature enough to produce a bloom.

What is this called?

I have a hard time finding giant slugs beautiful, but they are pretty amazing!

My beautiful sister with her fourth baby, little Noralie.

It was wonderful to have children with us as we explored.

This moss was something else…. it is even stretchy! Actually, is it moss or lichen?

I wish I could somehow express the scale of this tree better. Incredible.
Thank you Rachel for showing us those beautiful pictures!! It was a very special day!!
