Just one lamb.
That first lamb, the first morning.
The boys.
That duck.
The first lamb – Halo – little ewe lamb. So precious.
We have a large male muscovy duck that needs to go. Maybe we will eat him. See how huge he is!? We have two males and this is the one we’re not keeping.
Looking down at the chicken coop/sheep pen over the garden.
Fresh mulch is so pretty against spring grass.
“I can do it!” said Carolyn of the clippers.
I don’t remember why she was wearing my sweatshirt. I believe it was simply because she could reach to get it down.
This little sweetheart steals our heart a dozen times a day.
She is extremely self confident. Can you tell?
A pretty sight.
That’s the shop we rent out.
Here is Spot, tending to her several-day-old lamb.
Here is Brownie… waiting for her lambs to be born.
Us.
Triplets for Brownie!!!
A large ram, a medium sized ewe and a small ram all born to Brownie.
Admiring crowd.
Brownie has her… hooves full keeping track of which ones are hers.
Anna is a great 4-H newbie with these lambs.
Carolyn and one of the lambs.
Maggie is looking so old in this picture. 6 1/2 years old!
Brownie is a very good mother.
At tired and attentive Brownie, the morning after a night’s labor.
Sire.
This is the smallest ram lamb. His hair is different too.
Brownie doesn’t really like us playing with her lambs.
Awwwwww
Outside!
I want to draw sheep.
So that’s it! We are enjoying being farmers. Fencing and hay are costing more than I expected, but if I put in terms of cost for an education, we’re still getting a good deal. I’m really loving having this special thing to do with Anna too. She is almost nine years old!
This is a beautiful lesson about life!! What fortunate children!!!
