Yippee! Firstly, here is Melissa with her little one in a Moby carrier! Then here is Anna in my new carrier! I walked half a mile without getting uncomfortable… except a bit from her weight against my tummy. My back was sore the next day, but not bone sore… just worked muscles sore. Yay!
Look at my big girl! I had some trouble keeping her legs in more than just her bottom (supposed to spread out to under her knees). I think maybe I need her bottom to be lower and knees higher… or maybe it’s just because she’s so big?
Anna loves snuggling with mommy; even more these days it seems. Does she know what’s coming?
She usually prefers her birthday suit, but allowed me to dress her in this pretty one one day:
The dollar tree squirt guns were a hit! We had so much fun for at least an hour…
This is one of my favorite pictures ever! My family having fun… makes my heart happy!
I think he’s about to get her back… not that she minded – she was soaked!
Anna dancing at my cousin Lori’s wedding reception!
Anna going to bed one night:
NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED!
Anna in bed tonight:
First squirt gun fight (after about half an hour of it actually!)
We are all silly – and the dog is driven to occasional bursts of insanity:
Trying to get a distracted two-year-old to tell me what she’s doing when she doesn’t really have teh words…
Oh and about potty training. She is potty trained! She very rarely has accidents and usually not bad ones. She uses the big potty exclusively and is able to pull down her pants and get on the stool and sit on the potty herself. When she is done she claps and says “yay, anna peepee/poop on potty!” Then she yells “Mommy/Papa come wipe please!” She is usually dry during naps and is about 50/50 at night, although she’s been dry for 3 or 4 days now. She wakes up about once a night on her dry nights to be helped onto the potty. This is pretty funny actually since she is still more than half asleep and cute and stumbling around. She so loves to get back into bed and snuggled with her blankies!
Those are great pictures. I especially like the one of Anna in her cute swimsuit and you and Melissa look very cute wearing your babies.
That’s so cute: her potty story.
Good job Rachel! You trained her well, and she’s super smart!
Your back yard looks GREAT! Nice green grass, good looking garden boxes, nice trees…
Teaching Anna to bug little animals…for shame. 🙂
cute vids & pics. Anna is SO big to be carried like that!! Wow. You’re going to have one buff back carrying both of your kids on your front like that. 🙂
So do you both have Mobies? Looks nice!
Melissa looks so lovely.
I can’t really see her little guy but the back of his head is sure cute.
Anna looks too big for that carrier. haha.
YAY FOR POTTY TRAINING!
Glad she caught on so well.
I LOVE the monkeys jumping on the bed video.
Hi Brian and Rachel! (I went to Togo with Brian in high school 🙂
I found your blog through your facebook, Brian and want to tell you what a beautiful family you have! We just adopted our daughter from Ukraine two months ago (we have two bio) and I see that you guys have/are adopting from your blog? I just wanted to stop by and say hey! ~McKenna
PS: I’m using a Mei Tai (sp?) wrap with our new daughter and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Wearing her has really helped with attaching! 🙂
Hi McKenna! Wow, it’s amazing what a couple of years can do to people. Adoption is part of our plan, just haven’t figured out all the hows and whens yet. We did foster care for a while and plan to take it up again. But right now we’re focused on Maggie, who is due in Oct. Exciting times! Hope you guys are enjoying the ride too.
-Brian
ok, so 10 years is more than a couple. 🙂 Man, time flies.
