I haven’t blogged as much as usual. I’m sure you’d all like to know more about the new home, how the kids are doing, what we’re up to and see pictures. But. Probably not going to happen today. The new home is still awesome. Brian has done lots of yard work and we keep picking away at little projects to make it feel more like home inside too. I want to hang pictures sometime soon… but that will first require looking through what art and photographs I have and thinking through where to put them. Probably also not happening today.
Yesterday was too interesting not to share though.
Woke up. Normal. Love mornings. A fresh start every day! I feel alive and energetic and ABLE again in the morning. For a bit!
8:30am – left for a TMJ therapy appointment. Halfway there, I started to get what felt like a cramp in my upper tummy. I couldn’t wait to get there so I could get out and stretch it out. Unfortunately, stretching my arms up hurt me more.
By 9:30am, at the end of my appointment, I couldn’t hardly lay through the last of the massage, because I was in so much pain in my diaphragm area. Pressing my hands onto my lower ribs sent shooting pains. I wanted to cry!
10-11am – During this time I drove around to a couple errands and talked with Brian and with my midwife on the phone. I still thought it was some sort of muscle cramp, because it hurt to move my torso and to use my arms. Last stop was for Calcium Magnesium (which helps with muscle cramps) and Rice Krispie Treat supplies, because I know what’s important. (Brian met me at home at 11am so I could figure out what to do and rest… and not feed the kids lunch)
By 1pm, I thought I had appendicitis. I had a call into my new primary care doc up here, had taken a hot bath and drunk two cups of hot tea. I laid down hoping for a little nap. I was in the zone by now… prolonged pain to a pregnant woman sends us into a zone. Brian was more thinking I was in labor while I was alternating between thinking it was really horrible gas pains and appendicitis. (It just didn’t have the pattern or tightness of contractions.)
Anyway…. I slept from 1-2pm. When I woke up, the pain was much less and it had moved lower in my tummy. I continued to take it easy and by 4pm, the pain was gone. Whew!
So that was exciting.
Hopefully no more excitement of that vein until Carrie is ready to be born!
