The Heritage of Anna’s Great-Great Grandma

Our Heritage

My Mother, your Grandmother, your Great-Grandmother, and your Great-Great Grandmother, Helena Kroeker Fast had a schedule of going to her bed room right after lunch, before taking a short nap, she would kneel by her chair and pray. Her children, grand children and great grand children were always mentioned. Most of you were prayed for before you were born.

We would all gather around the table for breakfast and Father would read a portion of Scripture and pray. Also in the evening, the family would gather together before going to bed. Father would read teh Scripture and each one would pray. My prayer is for all o fyou, each family member, that God would richly bless you and your descendants.

OUR FAMILY

We all have to learn how to bring up children. There is no chance for a trial run. We made mistakes and often wish we could go back and correct them. We should have spent more time with you, and showed more love and understanding. May God forgive us and may you forgive us also.
Jerald – our first born, always very active, tried to grow up too fast. NOw a father and grandfather. A believer in Christ. A dependable son.
Janice – his wife, a faithful wife and mother and grandmother.
Tami – a sweet child and now a wife and mother. Her admonition to us all is: As there is calm in the eye of the storm, so there can be calm in the midst of your problems, because Jesus is at the center of your life.
Jeff – a devoted husband and father.
Brian and Jennifer – both love the Lord
Todd – when he was little, loved to sing, “Surely Goodness and Mercy.” We are so thankful that he survived the bd accident and is a good family man. NOw is married to Lynne who is very dear to all of us and a good wife and mother.
Erin and Timothy are both eager to live life to the fullest.
Terri – always a very loving person, with husband Chris and children Kirsten, Rachel, Katlin and Alex, have a big challenge to bring up the children in the fear of the Lord.

Janice – always busy, things had to be fun. When getting ready to go pick beans, it took so long
for her to get ready. I said, “You’re taking so long dressing as though you are going to a party.” She said, “I am.”

The children earned their money for clothes picking strawberries, beans, etc. during the summer. As soon as the boys were big enough they helped with the building. The summer we moved back to Oregon, they earned the money for groceries while Henry and I were building our house. Janice, I hope and pray the Lord will restore the years in your life that the locusts have eaten. Joel 2:25 You have two lovely children, Robert and Tiffany. We are thankful that they survived the difficult years in their youth.
Robert – a stable and faithful husband, married to a sweet young lady, Pam have a precious little daughter Sydney.
Tiffany – you are a darling, glad you found a good husband, Greg, and we are all waiting either for Noah or Hanna. I am sure you will be good parents.
Paul – you were always a very good obedient son. I am sorry you got the spanking you said you did not deserve.
Bonnie – a good wife and mother, grieving so long for the lovely Vicki, that left us for heavens glory. She is there, waiting for all of us.
Traci – calm and composed and efficient in whatever she does. I am praying your love life will be what you want it to be.
Ken – a good son, who had tried a number of occupations. I am sure you were good at all of them. You found a special wife, who had given her life to the service of the Lord and to people. We thank you Diane.
John – very busy even when little. You were always making things from scrap wood left over from building. You found a precious wife and now mother of Cole and little Jack.
Matthew – our youngest grand child whom I babysat the most. You were such a sweet little guy and still are. Your favorite pass time was to be read to with John and to you alone when John started school. You went along on some of our fishing trips and to the coast with our trailer. I am asking the Lord to give you a good and loving wife also.
Merilyn – always a sweet and obedient child, you loved your dolls. Very meticulous in everything you did. You and Mike found each other on a blind date. You are a very good couple.

You are all very special children and also spouses, grand children and great-grand children.

A BLESSING

And now as you go on your way,
May God go with you,
May He go before you to show you the way
May He go behind you to encourage you.
Beside you to watch over you
And within you to give you peace.
Hope to meet you all in heaven.
