Family Holiday

We went up to a vacation rental (vrbo.com) for three nights. It was refreshing, fun, and a success. The fun experiences we planned were all 0-5 year-old level and it’s good we didn’t try to do anything bigger. Turns out, 20 minutes in the snow on the side of a mountain on a beautiful sunny day is plenty! And a 2-person hot tub at the rental, a big deal. And a couple old Disney movies (Peter Pan and The Jungle Book), big adventures. The Jiffy Pop, a success. A walk around the golf course, a breathtaking hike.

It was the kind of vacation that is actually refreshing. It has helped us have a little perspective as we look towards “the daily grind” and try to make decisions to keep us all healthy – individually and as a family.

Tidbit: When we go to a restaurant, we ask for four seats, two high chairs, two kids menus and end up ordering food for three to be split among us.

Enjoy the pictures!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful vacation. I used to be all about museums and sights and history and such while traveling, but now that I have two preschoolers I find that the best vacations are those that allow all of us to relax while experiencing something new and fun. Our trip to the beach last year was the best even though all we did was go back and forth on foot between our rental and the ocean. We hope to go again this year.

Also, I want one of those pudding cups or whatever they are.

What a lovely vacation! That sounds so relaxing and fun! I can’t believe how big Carolyn is already, it seems crazy that she is big enough to sit in a high chair!
