Life is good

I love my husband.
Really.
It’s been a stellar Valentine’s weekend. We haven’t done a whole lot… we did spend $15 on a car wash, some chocolate and some carnations. I love carnations. They live forever, smell like summer an dare just so beautiful! Thank you sweetheart!

The girls went to Grandma and Grandpa’s to “practice” their first overnight to see how it would go. We’ll be gone for over a week on our first trip to see James and again later this year. They did GREAT. And they were happy to see us again. Our home was so quiet and empty without the girls. It was wonderful to have some uninterrupted time together to talk and plan and get some projects done. It was wonderful to sleep quiet and uninterrupted. We woke up late in each others arms and it was just so peaceful! But… we both looked at each other after just a little while and commented on how empty of life our house is without the kids. We were reminded why we have kids.

For inspiration. For motivation. For joy. For purpose. For themselves! It’s so good to have them back!

Brian working on the chicken tractor last week. (I don’t think we’d get chickens if it weren’t for the girls)

A fancy dinner. We wouldn’t appreciate a fancy dinner if it weren’t for the girls. 😉

A beautiful creation. Perhaps not the painting?

It took a lot of rags to clean this one up.

Giggles in the dining room… saying “Hat!” then tickles, then “Love” and hugs. (still wearing my awesome apron. I love aprons. I love big apron pockets. I wish all my clothes were like aprons. But that would mean wearing jumpers. My mom wore jumpers. They are perfect. Comfortable. Pockets. Loose. And very mom-ish. Like, those big huge dark-rimmed glasses she loved and the big hear kind of mom-ish. I am not ready to wear jumpers. And mom, I’m sure your style was all the rage. All my friends moms had big hear and big glasses too. I guess I’m just style-deficient, but I’m staying in my jeans and apron.) 😉

Girls having fun together… that’s my phone in the video getting a text, not you.:

Those sweaters are from Neal and Hollye, their stylish aunt and uncle. I love having something trendy in here. 😀
