Joy and Faith

I wrote the other day that Jordan is experiencing neglect… you might wonder what i meant by that. Obviously, he is not seriously malnourished or untended. It is painful to think of him crying and nobody coming to him! But! His orphanage is a very good one. He is only neglected compared to the level of care and attention he will receive at home (his sisters cannot WAIT to teach him everything!). I am excited to watch him blossom! Since I wrote the blog post the other day… when I was feeling discouraged… the Lord has encouraged me.

He has reminded me of His promises:
For God so loved the world [and Jordan] that he gave his only begotten son… John 3:16
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.รขโ‚ฌย Deuteronomy 31:8
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Just a few things to be thankful for:
God loves Jordan more than me
The staff at the orphanage are kind and loving
Jordan needs a family, yes, but he is doing very well for a child in an orphanage
I’m having precious time with my girls
I have successfully been exercising for three weeks
I haven’t gotten sick
Brian had Monday off work
Physical therapy, although painful, has made a big difference in my jaw again (yay!)
Christmas is coming!
Jordan WILL come home. In God’s GOOD time.

And now, to remember a few laughs:

Buddy Walk and more

We had the pleasure of meeting up with two other families plus friends to represent Reece’s Rainbow at this year’s Portland Buddy Walk. (Hosted by NWDSA) The adorable little redhead being held by his big sister has been home with his family for six months now from Russia. Praise God! His sisters dote on him and all those teen girls are making life-long differences for others with their fundraising and awareness efforts. Most recently, they had a babysitting night (Parent’s night out)… you might keep them in mind for future babysitting gigs!

Maggie was rocking her cloth diapers when it came time to play in the fountain.

Afterwards we went to a birthday dinner for my brother-in-law. I have more to share about that visit… but it will have to wait! For now, here is some cuteness:

Where’s Jackson?

And more:

Haha

And one of our end-of-summer harvests. Mom, I made ketchup. Now I need potatoes to make fries. Planted last week: onions, lettuce, spinach, carrots, radishes.

I am praying for the Lord’s perfect peace as we wait for Jordan. My son is not safe in my womb. He is on the other side of the world. He is not where I can nurture him. He is experiencing neglect. He is not unborn. He is two and a half and has never known a mother or a family. I know that God has brought us to bring him home, to do our best to help him achieve his potential.

I know that God has not lost control over this situation.

It’s been over SIX WEEKS since any progress has been made on our adoption. What are we waiting for? Signatures. Two of them. You’d think that might take a couple hours.

My frustration is high.

But my God is bigger than even my frustration. His timing is better than mine.

But Lord… please bring him home soon.

No News

In this case, no news is not good news. Our dossier has been submitted for 5 1/2 weeks and we still have not been sent over to the courts. We need that judge assigned so that we can have court and make that boy ours! I am trying to believe that the Lord has this adoption in His hands… and that His timing is best. Please pray Jordan home!

First Circus!

We went to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus on Saturday! The girls’ first circus! Unfortunately, it was the Zing Zang Zoom show… a mix of circus and magic tricks instead of the classic three ring circus. BUT, the girls didn’t know different and it was great! Think it damaged our ears it was so loud, but we survived. haha

Our tickets were in a really quiet sector which was great; we got to move around to the seats we wanted and Maggie was able to wander a bit and do lots of rapid jumping and being silly. Both girls were braver than I expected at something so loud and visually overwhelming.

People leaving the free pre-show I didn’t know about and heading back to their seats as we arrived:

One of the animal acts. Thankfully, there were still some elephants, horses, dogs and cats even though it wasn’t the classic show. No bears or tigers. ๐Ÿ™‚

On Sunday, we had a full, but good day! Starting with church… which created great conversation about money, value systems and generosity. Then a friend’s baby shower, where there was lots of yummy treats, including six home-baked pies. Oh yum!!! Here’s the plum and the berry pie that I brought:

Then we had company for dinner! Laughter, good food… a blessing to us and hopefully to our guests too.

I couldn’t take those pies to the shower and leave Brian with nothing!

Sugar cookies!

Mom… these sprinkles are great. How many decades old do you think they are? And still providing high quality colored sprinkles! ๐Ÿ˜‰
