Compliance is Required

    I suppose there is a little bit of a rebel in all of us. Even I, your typical mild-mannered aspiring electrical engineer have felt the urge to disregard the rules, to lay aside the usual structure, and to protest against the establishment. But what really gets my goat is when management gets all uppity with their email subjects. Somewhere some little dweeb, ahem pardon my french, is sitting at a computer, goes on a little power trip and thinks he can dictate what all the revenue generating employees must do just by saying “Compliance is Required”. How outrageous that such strong language is used in a “professional” atmosphere! And for such a trivial manner as logging into a password management system. Why, they might as well be lining us up between barb-wire and using cattle prods! Today I have reached new heights of umbrage at the corporate policy of this company. The sheer hubris of the little tech minions that require compliance, compliant software, windows compliance, color compliant web pages, and now all emails from management are going to say Compliance is Required! Well, or what? Are they going to take away my little plastic tray with pencils and paper clips in it? Wait a minute, what do you want? You ARE taking away my little plastic tray? No! Please! I can’t work without an orange highliter! No, not the sticky notes! My chair! You can’t take my chair, I’ll have to stand, the union won’t stand for it! WHAT? YOU ARE TAKING MY PC???! IT TOOK THREE WEEKS TO GET THEM TO…….
