One of those quirky things

As time passes since the day we wed, I have learned different things about my dear, wonderful husband. Things like he doesn’t like cooked broccoli, he appreciates a clean kitchen, he sleeps on his left side, his feet bounce when he sits at the computer (and other times) and he randomly seems to get the urge to do something special for me. Isn’t that wonderful?

What I was just thinking about, though, was one of the quirky things. It is something small and not worth an entire post, but Brian asked what I was talking about, so here it is: Brian folds clothes, both his and mine when it needs done… except for socks, my socks. He will fold the most difficult of feminine shirts with laces and flimsy material with patience, but scoff when I toss him my socks to be folded. “They aren’t mine!” he protests. Therefore, although I expect he will be gracious and helpful for the rest of our lives, I am convinced that I will always be folding my own socks.

That’s good, I guess; it will keep my independence. Although I never thought my independence would be based on a pile of socks.

Thats really wierd. It never even occurred to me to fold her socks. Doesn’t everyone fold their own socks?

hmm — i guess i fold neal’s socks because i know he hates to! but, he pretty much has a general distaste for anything chore-like 😉

In our family, yes, everyone folds their own socks. Or rolls them or carefully matches each pair and freaks out when there is an extra sock without a friend or just puts the whole bunch in the drawer. I personally think that folding socks is weird but that is just me and probably why Brian never thought to fold Rachel’s socks.

gosh! i can’t even get any of mine to match let alone roll them, fold them or toss them at Jake! He folds somethings but generally will sit and play world cup soccer or watch a movie while i fold. He will not ever fold my undies. :/
