I decided to write something about Brian on the blog the day week 10 began and the “funny” counter suggested that I was upset at him for getting me pregnant because it makes me so miserable. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Indeed, he has just as much of a load to bear as he picks up the slack and continues to be a faithful partner during this exciting and emotional time.
Brian forgives me so often these days… I am more clumsy, more forgetful, and more frequently emotional (and grumpy) these days. Thank you sweetheart.
Brian is more helpful than ever these days… he washes dishes and I dry when I am up to it, he changes the laundry, unloads the groceries, gets me glasses of water and so forth. Thank you darling!
Brian is amazingly patient these days… he still waits patiently when I am slow, he walks slowly when I am tired, he holds me and listens to me as I relate details that seem really important at the time and lets me get bossy now and then… til I realize how silly I’m being. Thank you Brian.
Brian supports me, listens to me, lets me cry on his shoulder, is excited with me, cares about me and baby and is so very gentle and strong. I am so proud to be his wife, to be bearing his child and to partner with him. We couldn’t either of us get through this alone with the grace and happiness that comes from being together. He tells me that it’s ok that I am not doing much around the house lately, because I’m making baby and that’s enough. I tell him he’s incredible because he’s going to work and filling so many shoes at home as well. Yeah, we’re letting out housework slide a bit… we have more important things to do – like sitting on the couch picking out baby names or just being there for each other at the end of the day.
I love you Brian. Thank you for all you do and are. I am so lucky and so proud of you.
A quick update for you all – we tore the back door out of the garage, because we want it to open outwards and it needed some serious work to get the rotting wood out of it and waterproof it too…. so Brian is at Home Depot now buying cement and a door and I am going to go make us dinner!
I also bought a armoire for baby’s room! It is very cute. Pine. 🙂
Now what Brian are you talking about…………?? Just kidding, you make me proud Brian, keep up the good work, for just another 50-60 years, OK no problem.
