goals

It’s good to have goals, they say. As Rachel and I mark two years of fantastic marriage and prepare for the next big life change, named Anna, I have been thinking of some of my goals for life. And here, without any guarantee of completeness or correct spelling, and in no particular order, are some of mine:

  1. Marry a wildly beautiful woman and fall passionately in love with her every day (730 days down, more to go)
  2. Raise the children the Lord blesses me with to be everything God made them to be
  3. Climb Mt Hood
  4. Die having never understood high finance or the tax code
  5. Live in Africa for at least a year
  6. Pilot a sea plane solo
  7. Learn to speak another language
  8. Learn to play the guitar
  9. Own multiple acres of land
  10. Make wine from my own grapes
  11. Learn to ride a horse
  12. To never stop learning
  13. To never say: I’m too old for…
  14. Start a business
  15. Pay off my house
  16. Preach the gospel
  17. Be truly honest with myself and everyone else
  18. Be selfless
  19. Write a song
  20. Write a book
  21. Write a computer game 🙂
  22. At least try down-hill skiing
  23. Raise Angora rabbits
  24. Surf
  25. Build a house
  26. Forgive those who hurt me, love those that hate me, and to see Jesus seated at the right hand of God and coming in the clouds of heaven
