Jordan Watch – Thursday

From Brian:

We woke up late and went to breakfast. Jordan had yogurt and eggs blended up in his coke bottle. Meredith and Shelly were at breakfast too so we sat and talked and decided to run out to go shopping together. We all piled into a taxi and went down to the cathedrals in the center of town. There we took pictures and shopped from the tables of little old ladies who knit and embroider all kinds of things. Jordan was fussed some of this time in the Ergo on my back and got carried by me and mom and eventually cuddled with Meredith before we loaded up into another taxi back to the hotel. Then we ordered lunch in and tried to feed Jordan but he was so tired he didn’t eat much. We let him lay on the floor in the sun and watch his shadows. He fell asleep and so did I until 1:30 (about an hour) and we had to go get in the car with Dmitri and go to Jordan’s medical appointment. When we got there they made us wait a bit. Then told us we needed his immunization records which I had forgot about and left at the hotel. Dmitri and I raced back to the hotel while mom stayed with Chevdar and Jordan and they his examination. Not a very thorough one but when we got back to the hospital 40 minutes later they were ready for my signature and we were done. We raced to the embassy to try to get there before 4pm when they close. Got in at 3:30, met the consulate at 3:54 and walked out at 3:59. They told us the visa will be ready tomorrow at 3pm so that means we are done!

(At this point, enter with screaming and crying and dancing and laughing… all in joy, of course. From me. Rachel. I don’t think Brian screamed, but he did seem pretty darn happy!)

A quick skype with Rachel back the hotel and she is on the phone to change our tickets. We went down to dinner with Meredith, Shelley and another family that I’m sorry I can’t remember your names! Dinner was very nice chatting with everyone. Jordan was getting tired and I eventually laid him on the floor and he just laid down. So we went back upstairs and played with him and bathed and went to bed.

Pray for us on the way home, we don’t have seats together on all the flights. So pray that we are able to switch with folks, pray that the flight is safe, that Jordan does well and many thanks to God that things have gone sooo well today. He was held almost all day and did really well. He also handled the car much better. Both were major breakthroughs for him and us. He ate, he drank, he pooped, he slept, all the things a parent worries about he did fine today. I am elated I get to be home with my girls soon and that I am bringing my son home. I can’t wait to get him into our family routine I think he will do so well.

You don’t want to miss this video! Self-initiated play! Standing and balancing! Laughter! I love you Jordan! (and his clothes are too big – that’s why his pants were having issues)
