Kid’s Room

I need a wide-angle lens to really capture the kids’ bedroom. It’s getting a wee bit full.

New crib to the right, Maggie and Anna's bunk center, Jordan's crib to the left. Three dressers in the room and a full, narrow closet behind me. A happy, busy little room.

I do wish sleeping furniture was all half-sized, though. Maybe if I’d thought ahead, I could have figured it out… but standard-sizes it is. Anna and Maggie can fit in toddler beds (a toddler bunk bed?) and the cribs could be half that size, at least the baby one. 🙂 As it is, the bunk bed doubles as play space.

  1. I was just telling Nathan we need to do something for Hazel’s bed. Her toddler mattress is all springs now. It was Abiah’s originally. We plan to get a full size bed and have the girl’s just sleep together all “Laura and Mary” like. It’s more for me than for them. 🙂 When people have asked how we manage to make it with six people in a three bedroom/one bath I remind them that others have had to do with less. I have to remind myself of that sometimes too. I shared a room with my sisters until I was 18 and I LOVED it. There were times when I didn’t but for the most part it was really good for us. Once Jackson is old enough he and Abiah will have a boy room. That will be a fun transition! So happy for you guys!

Heh, Three bedroom one bath! All six of us are in two bedrooms. Thank God the older three sleep like rocks. I love the set up Rachel… Ive never heard of toddler bunk beds. Hm.

  4. Yep, we’re 2 bed/1bath… Brian’s office is in our bedroom and mine is in the living room. I am 100% certain we have more square footage than you, though! I am continually impressed you all fit in your smaller place! I’m going to start calling you my European cousin.

Toddler beds turned into a bunkbed has been done. Check out how Susanna fits her 7 boys into their bedroom:
